The daily life of cats

We got one of those caves for our two orange tabbies! They sniff at it and sit on it more than any thing! However the new plastic laundry basket with holes they can try to pull the clothes out thru is a real hit!

Milo loves those laundry baskets! He’s the reason I get all the laundry put away ASAP. Luckily he isn’t quite brave enough to jump in (maybe it looks a bit too close to a carrier?), just pull and chew on the clothes.
I’m pretty sure Milo figured out the cave by mistake. He was attacking it for hours and fell asleep inside.

Sweetie loves laundry baskets—so cozy—and Leo tried out a new venue, a garden bin with debris. :grinning_cat:

Sheelah on the fridge.

Are you seriously going out all day again?

Interesting the pictures on the frig are all dogs! I wonder if the cat knows it. However, the one frig magnet IS a kitty!

Hope you’re well and your wife is improving!

There are cat pictures on that side. The dogs or guardian angel dogs, Great Pyrenees. They protected our Nubian dairy goats from coyotes and dogs. And I’m sure they would have done the same for us.

If people came wanting to buy and the dogs stayed slightly back with their tails curled tight, suddenly we had no stock for sale. Noe if they cozied up wanting pets, we had animals for sale.

I miss the dogs and the goats especially kids. There’s not much that’s more delightful than a bunch of kid goats.

Sometimes my wife is better and sometimes not it’s like a tug a war with nearly equal teams. Just taking it one day at a time.

On that subject, here’s one of the best essays I’ve read on living with a cat, by the mordantly funny Tim Kreider:

This: “How would you feel,” he asked me, “if you were to get home from this weekend and that cat was gone?”

I moaned and writhed in the passenger seat.

“You’re Cat Guy,” he said in disgust.”

Reading about the vacuum song reminded me to check on availability of bags for our Gerrman vacuum cleaner.

Meko has taken over Milo’s nest.
“But why do I have to share? You know I look cuter in it!”

Winston (aka Garage Kitty) had a dental today with 2 extractions. But he’s doing really well and tolerated the oral syringe for the pain meds pretty well. He is inside tonight but will be able to go back out tomorrow. I will post a photo soon.

Anyone’s cats have this behavior? We have 3 kitties, one male and 2 females. Twice a day they share a can of Fancy Feast. The 2 girls like to run their cheeks on the can before I open it.

Aren’t cats fun.

And our other kitty, Java. Java’s namesake comes from how he was rescued…a FB friend of mine announced that this little gray kitty ran into the coffee shop that she and her friend were having coffee at and wanted to know if anyone wanted a kitty. We took him home and named him Java.
