no it isnt a new behavior…ive been trying to get him to stop for a while now. it drives me crazy lol. he doesnt do it all the time…sometimes he does…like today i didnt notice he did it. but then there is a day that ill notice he has done it.
@amymc It’s amazing how much our little (or not so little) kitties, or even doggies, are creatures of habit. Once they begin a behavior, it is almost impossible to stop them. Much like human behavior I imagine.
We had one cat who loved hair ties and would find them wherever the girls left them and then carry it to the toilet bowl and drop it in. It didn’t stop there, they would then try to scoop it out with their paws! Our bathroom toilet seat and floor were always wet and it wasn’t until we caught the little bugger in action before we knew why! Another of our kitties loved rubber bands. She found them and would snap the bejesus out of it. Another couldn’t get enough bread ties. Several of our kitties loved sour-smelling dish cloths! Ewww. They would get them from the laundry bin in the basement and bring them up and rub themselves all over with it! Double ewww!!
Putting clothes into a litter box is a new one for me though, lol. I feel for you!
it seems like a fun household at your place :)…yeah its clothes…mostly undies and socks. if i leave a shirt in the laundry basket he’ll take that out. he is a weird cat. i wished i can stop the habit…that way my clean clothes that are in the drawers dont end up in the boxes
It surely was interesting! We had one kitty who would scoop her water up in her paw and lap it up from there. Not too devious of a behavior, just precious! She, however, was a hellion. She only liked my husband and snarled at everyone else. We adopted her from my sister’s best friend, when she couldn’t care for her any longer. We already had three cats, so she had some getting used too herself as well!
Next time I see my cat rescue friend, I will ask her about this.
awww…sounds like she had a mind of her own…my boyfriend’s cats dont like me. they will let me pet them a wee bit but thats it. they will sniff my hand but that is it. other than that they prefer to be all over my boyfriend. one of them is skittish a bit…
thanks
Since, CatLady, suggested I visit this thread, here I am. Lot’s of nice kitties and stories. Here’s a picture on my pal, Frankie. He showed up at our house 4 years ago and never left except to the vet, including the last time. We lost him to feline leukemia. He was such a quite guy, even his purr. He like to knead hard on my abdomen, pressing his right paw just under my sternum. I hurt and I miss it.
I messed up a bit on the editing. His eyes were vivid, Harry Potter (the book) green.
Second part and picture.
We couldn’t stand the house being empty of cats and went to our local shelter. We brought home two, a 3 year old we named Manny McMahon and a 2 month old wild child, Sheela T. MaGee. The T is for trouble.
This is what I woke up to this morning.
The are loud mouths, both of them, and beggers. For some reason our kitties in the past did not care for what their humans ate, not these two. “Whacha, got, is it good, can I have some, please.”
@CarlosLuis Thank you for sharing! What wonderful stories you have
More pics of bubba on today’s ride….I’m
Leaving for Atlanta tomorrow so he’ll be a few days without me…but my boyfriend will take care of him

I wish I had a picture of what I saw this morning. There is a black feral cat, Pretty Kitty, I have been feeding for quite sometime. She use to watch me as close as 10 feet, and I would talk nice to her.
Well, I did a terrible thing, she had a litter of nice looking kittens, one black, one very white with Siamese type points and a gray striped tabby. I baited a humane trap with Vienna sausages and caught Pretty Kitty. She went to our local shelter as part of a trap, neuter, release program. Brought her home and held her for a day in an enclosure for a day.
She lost any trust in humans. I still put food out in two places, and sometimes I’ve been treated to a sighting of her and the tabby, That baby is braver than the siblings.
Anyway this morning I was at my desk when I caught a flash of white. I thought it was Tony our tabby boy that has lots of white, but no, it was the Siamesey and tabby kittens playing while Pretty Kitty stood guard. Our Tony was between the house and them watching.
Aww, I hope they will become friends with your Tony, and you, too!! They sound so precious!
Yesterday was bubbas birthday….he is now 4……he doesn’t look mad…he doesn’t mind the hat on :-)……after I took the pic he had it in for a while
Bubba is so tolerant! And very handsome. Hope he enjoyed lots of birthday treats.
He enjoyed his birthday :-)….mostly slept and snuggled….no treats tho as I said he was sleeping
Here’s our Sheila playing hide and seek. She loves to burrow under that blanket to sleep and sometimes to peek out.
awwww how cute! looks all snuggled under there
Yeah!! She’s a cutie pie with the middle name of Trouble. She beats up our big guy, Manny, and when he doesn’t want anymore she whines, but we love her and him both. They came from the shelter on the same day.
It was so funny, for two days, every time Sheila came close to Manny he would hiss. Now, if she gets aggravated about being held he is right there, “What you doing to my Little sister?”
Awww…they seems to work it out tho….and sound cute….how old are they? Bubba is now 4……I love cats all ages…and glad you got them in the same day…always good
