gonna kick this topic up the flagpole. It covers my exact dilemma.
I currently receive supplies from Solara. They were my original point if contact for the G5 this year. They were great in getting paperwork sorted and working with my doc office. Took a little while but was in no hurry.
Fast forward to post 3rd reorder. Not one single order waa shipped as promised, taking a total of 8 to 27 days to simply ship. I am fortunate as they are down in the San Diego area which typically is just a couple days delivery up here north of Santa Barbara (oh, that’s California if ya don’t know).
The past two orders, which actually affected 3-months use, resulted in my having G5 sensors for a whole 26 out of 75 days. Thats roughly 33% of the time.
The first reorder was supposed to be my upgrade to the G6. Had to check on it on"e a week over the next 26 days. Until the last rep i spoke with, Jose or Juan(? don’t have my notes handy) every rep promised they would ship overnight the next day. My last rep was outstanding. He took time to really check wth was up as even he said it made zero sense. After he communicated with internal whoevers at Solara, he called me back TWICE. First was just before he left for lunch but wanted to just let me know he wasn’t lagging and just voicemail tag with shipping & logistics supervisors. He called back late in the day with real answer… Solara pretty much had insufficient G6 supplies to ship to me. Very refreshing but a big red “X” against Solara. He got me new G5 sensors & Tx. I did contact Dexcom about the experience (Solara is not making their products look appealing). I was told Dexcom has had some production issues and it was on their end. However it was then using a local pharmacy might work out better.
Two subsequent orders have not faired better. Most recent took 12-days to be shipped. As usual not sent overnight as i had zero sensors but 1st class package. Shipping took 3 more days.
It’s beyond frustrating as in what is the point if one can’t actually use the device to, well, stay alive (i know hyperbole but meh)?
I have talked with local pharmacy i use for everything. They were eager to check into getting everything for me. I decided to hold off until i actually receive a G6 supply. I surely don’t want further confusion here. My doctor was really surprised to hear this today and offered to take steps on his end to ensure the supply chain works.
It was Dexcom who suggested my regular pharmacy. I cannot use Walgreens as there are legal issues and an NDA in place. Though it might be interesting to see them twist in the wind after failing to fill my orders a few times.
Fyi, apparently, after reading here on FUD, it’s not only Solara with serious problems in logistics.
Longer rant just to say…“I’m glad ti find I’m not alone”
