The Crazies Are Out - Covid 19

this is so funny to me to hear about, bc this is exactly what we do. there is a neighbor of ours who likes to make fresh blueberry preserves and we allow him to pick away at those bushes so long as he brings us some of his delicious jams. its a wonderful, symbiotic relationship; everyone should b so lucky!!! :yum:

happy I brought back such a fond memory for u! YUM.

…and Starlink satellites are supposed to be visible tonight. I’ll see if they look like the military aliens I saw earlier this week. {Adding a layer of tinfoil to my Domestic Goddess Anti-Mind Control Crown}

Did you see the Starlink satellite array last night @T1Allison? Is it an impressive sight?

I saw them and they looked different than what I saw the other night!

I will start worrying about the collapse of our society when the Soothing Voice People stop speaking with breathy, drawn out vowel sounds.

Also, Soothing Voice People, have you always talked like that? Did it take practice or is it innate?

This is the latest pic of what’s happening in Brooklyn right outside my house every day for the past (maybe) 8 days, and on into the evening before th 8pm curfew is enforced.

And another photo that is toward the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge right before the demonstration begins.

Our county of about 200,000 people now outpacing New York State in new cases of covid. Nobody here wearing masks. Idiots rambling on about how they don’t have to wear masks because they have rights… (public health directive went into effect today… nobody is complying)

I remember when I moved here some of my coworkers from WA state said be prepared to be surrounded by rednecks— the stupid kind… I laughed it off at the time. I no longer do.

7 out of the 35 crew on board one of the ships I serve as captain of are now verified positive and locked down in a mandatory quarantine…

@Sam I’m so sorry to hear this! My good thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

I’m not there currently… thankfully… but still…

@Sam having been in a similar situation, it’s downright scary to have to rely on co-workers and their personal sanitation rituals (if any). I no longer trust my coworkers to do the right 1thing.

I honestly trust my coworkers more than I do citizens of my own home community (in my case they’re far seperated)

You are a very fortunate person. I work with a broad range of people, but the Millennials scare me the most. They seem as a group to think they are impervious to C-19 and take chances that put the rest of us at risk. They are also the only employees that have tested positive and act agrieved when the workplace sanitation\ mask\crowd rules are enforced.

@Sam Oh, no, and you being so careful. I hope and pray it does not spread beyond the 7 infected! Stay safe!

Oh, @Sam, keep us posted! Hope you and your family stay well.

Ships seem like incredibly enclosed spaces where transmission would likely flourish. Glad you are not in that situation; I hope all those people recover.

So do I… from what I’ve heard so far none of the cases known at this point seem to be severe and they’re all in relatively healthy people
