I’m unreasonably annoyed by this trendline today. The t:slim showed this as a “steady arrow.” Control IQ even turned off my basal, but somehow it’s still “steady”?
The Dexcom G7 app was better, at least recognizing it as a “slight down arrow”. (Look at those missing data points though – don’t know when they’ll fix that issue.)
I really wish I could set alarms for slight down arrows under a certain BG! The “falling fast” alarm is handy, but “falling slow” is more common. By the time I felt this low ~65-70, my CGM said I was 90. Setting my low alarm to 100 to actually prevent lows is totally possible, but would be really annoying…
A lot of folks have recommended Xdrip for CGM data customization options. I got as far as installing it… and then abandoned the project for a later day, with more hours and more brainpower to finish setup. Does Xdrip have a solve for “slow drops”? That might give me the motivation I need to keep going.
XDrip+ on Android supports many Alerts! It does support a “fast drop” alert and the “drop” is configurable 1-3mg/dL as shown in the images. I’m not sure about xDrip on iOS.
I’ve seen this a fair amount where the trend arrow is different. To me it seems Dexcom is more conservative than Tandem (maybe a rounding type issue). My guess is you were actually leveling out at 70 so would be curious what the next few data points looked like.
Regardless most eveything is annoying when I’m low…lol.
You’re not wrong I got down to 55 before I came back up, but when I’ve already felt it and treated it quickly I think the CGM doesn’t catch how low I really got… But hey, better than being low long enough that it registers fully.
Ooh, wonderful! That might do it for me. Thank you, @Trying !
Well, if you want to put an app on your iPhone that is not in the app store, you can install it as a developer build. That’s what I did. I used my Apple developer license (same one I use for Loop), and installed it as a developer build.
xDrip4iOS? Ok, originally Xdrip was forked by JamOrHam and became xDrip+. The original xDrip is from NightScout but these days even NightScout reference xDrip+
Problem; it’s too-damn-good. It uses AndroidSDK to build, which ties it pretty much to Android, so we get things like xDrip4iOS.
But I don’t know; did someone else fork the Emma Black original to create something for Apple?
@RachelMaraii are you using an Android 'phone or an Apple 'phone or something completely different? The answer depends on the 'phone.
The t:slim is connecting to the G7 using one interface, your 'phone connects using another. That other interface only allows one 'phone app to connect at once, so if you have the Dexcom app installed you must first uninstall it.
Once you have done that you will be able to boot up xDrip+; I’m assuming you have already obtained the APK here but if not:
Reboot your 'phone before trying to use xDrip+ if you have been using something, anything, else to connect to the G7.
Once you have done all this just go through whatever setup may be required on a new install (it really is years since I have done one) then hamburger/settings/Hardware Data Source and go down from there. When you change a sensor just change the pairing code (“Dexcom Transmitter ID”); no need to stop/start/dance all around.
The first time you connect to a sensor that is already connected it can take a long time to connect. Since you use the t:slim and it is connecting that will be an issue because you should connect the t:slim first; it’s the dude delivering the insulin! So just hang with it; sooner or later xDrip+ “should” manage to connect.
