Have you checked whether your insurance might be able to cover the Dexcom through your pharmacy benefit. Some members (not us sigh) have had good luck getting 30 days of supplies through their pharmacy when their insurance allows. Also my 2 cents, 30 days of sensors is just bogus, you should only have to walk through their ■■■■ every 90 days and that is being generous.
for me Rx benefit is a flat nope. In my battle with Solara, i happened to speak with sort of an ombudsman patient advocate. She was soooo very understanding about the whole DME vs Rx issue. She said 50% of here calls come down to frustrations dealing with any number of medical equipment suppliers. She said they all ‘stink’ her word not mine. That honesty made me laugh just because she understood. She did say it’s all about contracts with the various equipment providers. As most of those contracts expire they try and move things people use every month to Rx benefit and Dexcom CGM’s are on the radar. Nit holding my breath but it’s something?
Just got my second edgepark order shipped.
Ordered it online on Thursday, thanksgiving day. Got the shipment confirmation today.
What a different ballgame.
With solara I’d have been calling, leaving unreturned voicemails, emailing my sales rep for weeks to get them to acknowledge I exist… then they’d have told me I need an insurance authorization which would have taken several more weeks, then they’d have told me my rx was now expired and it would have taken 2 more weeks to get that, then the insurance authorization would be expired by then… and they wouldn’t have billed my secondary at all. that place is horrid
Although I did receive a $500 class action settlement for their data breach the other day, unexpectedly, through Venmo of all things…
