Linda is banished again. Bug?

She is writing to me via text and LinkedIn. She suspects that every time she posts a link, her account get suspended.

Is this a bug associated with her account permissions? I haven’t gotten suspended for posting the exact same link. Post is here: Are there any Direct Payment or Direct Primary Care endocrinologists? - #5 by LWithrow

You guys don’t think this is happening to other people, do you? @elver

Discourse has different “trust” levels and some auto-silencing/flagging may occur for someone at trust level 0 (new poster) attempting to post multiple links or links at all depending on how our spam settings are set up. Repeated attempts to post such things may cause auto silencing, auto-temp suspension and/or auto-flagging to moderators. It’s a “Discourse spam protection” built-in mechanism to prevent new users from posting irrelivant spam links.

I’m not an admin any longer, but those who are should check our spam settings and trust configurations at each level to see if this may be responsible for what we’re seeing here.

You should be able to go to Admin Panel → Logs → Screened Emails/posts/IPs to see why a particular event occurred.

Yeah, this might be connected. I posted a link, and then she referenced that link (by reposting it). That may have triggered something.

The first post she made included a link and triggered the same behavior.

@mohe0001 yes, that is what is happening. @spdif (aka. Chris) confirmed this on TuDiabetes forum, so no links for me until I am a “member” here rather than “basic user.” – would have posted the link to the TuDiabetes convo here, but alas…

Hi @LWithrow,
I am very sorry you had this experience.

I promise this is not intended, it’s just an automated response because we have had a lot of bots recently and they post links.

We definitely want to welcome you to the community and are trying to get this issue resolved.

Hi @LWithrow you shouldn’t have this issue going forward. It only happened because you were a newer member.

If you have any additional issues, just PM me or @CatLady for help.
