Bluejay gts compatibility with dexcom g7 or dexcom one plus?? I have it operating with the G6 but I’m being softly pushed towards an alternative sensor. Has anyone any idea??
The old version of the BluJay is not compatible with the G7. But I think they have a new version that is compatible now.
Thanks Eric. And the one plus do you know??
@CatLady I looked at the site. It does not really specify Dexcom versions.
It says:
- Runs Android operating system and standard xDrip+ is built-in
So I am guessing it works with G7 since it mentions xDrip, and I know xDrip supports the G7.
I wish they’d offer a GTS 2.0 with G6 and G7 compatibility. I like the simplicity of the GTS (and smaller size).
Is the new one bigger?
It’s 50 mm compared to 38 mm for the GTS. Way too big for my skinny wrist!
ETA: I decided to try attaching the watch around a belt loop, which works just fine for jeans and such. BTW, this watch needs almost daily charging even though the only function I am using is the xdrip collector.
Bluejay staffer told me that the GTS (first) version can’t decode the G7 data. “They have it locked up tighter than Fort Knox” (Interesting, coming from a Brit). So they needed more computational power, hence the new model.
I am still using my old Bluejay GTS, but had to make the phone the collector connecting to the G7 instead of the watch. Since I carry my phone almost everywhere anyway, no problem for me. If the phone escapes me I check my Tandem pump. It actually works better for me than the watch as collector.
I don’t like the new Bluejay because it is larger and has a lot more complication than I want to deal with. May try it some day but for now I am happy with the GTS.
The very short battery life is a deal killer for me.
I love the BlueJay watches. I have had 3 or 4 now I think?
I use the new Galaxy 7/ultra now. 4 days battery life, but it still makes me use xdrip on my phone as the collector. I would rather use my watch as the collector.
