Dexcom G7 & iOS 26?

Has anyone tried using the Dexcom G7 app on iOS 26? Dexcom’s compatibility page shows that they haven’t finished testing it yet.

Just for you @ned I took one for the team. Dexcom app works ok. Get a message how they are still testing. It’s a slight annoyance but not bad. Lots of other stuff looks different which is quite annoying to me. And my keypad has a blue smear over the p. That clears in landscape.

A rant on IoS 26, while the Dexcom and Tandem apps work ok there are changes that someone thought was clever but are not. The old adage of not fixing what ain’t broke has more weight than new and impropved. Apple would ‘ve done better by fixing things such as secruity and let the parts that are visible to us remain the same.

I keep several tabs open. In the former IoS there was a box at the bottom that lets you see open tabs. The box is gone repkaced by … click on that and to view open tabs you have to click all tabs.

Then there is Healt which I use to log my daily oral meds. I don’t know what haappened there but I ended up llogging me nighttime meds this morning.

So far I find that the new operating system is cute an clever while the olld one was user friendly and more intuitive.

I’ll get used to it but I doubt I will ever like it.

That’s the way I feel about every Apple update to my phone, which is why I am still on version 17 something. LOL

I went ahead and updated, and have had no problems with the Dexcom app. I use CarPlay when driving, and iOS 26 lets you put widgets on your car screen, so now when I’m driving I can swipe over to see my blood sugar on the Dexcom widget. Unfortunately, it doesn’t ever update so it’s not useful but maybe it will auto-update in a future version.

One problem I have noticed is that my blood sugar value that’s displayed on my Apple Watch no longer automatically updates, so I have to tap the “- -“ to see my current BG.

iOS 26 is still not officially supported. The first developer version of the OS was released on June 9th but there are still some issues (see above). Presumably there are barriers that medical device software has to overcome that other software doesn’t (like FDA approvals, patient testing, etc.) Does anyone know how this kind of thing works these days? (I’m just curious, not complaining)

Ned - I don’t know which Apple Watch you have, but I was having the same problem with my Apple Watch Ultra gen 1 after updating to OS 26. Then I updated to an Ultra gen 3, and now my blood sugar value is always displayed, and current. Not only that, but my gen 1 used to make me turn bluetooth off and on after losing connection, sometimes more than once a day, but my gen 3 has only made me do that once or twice in the five days I’ve had it.
