Anyone using 780g with Instinct?

Hi! I’m narrowing things down as my pump warranty expires soon. I’m looking for your experience using the 780g with the new Instinct sensor.

I currently use Tandem x2 with G7. I’m probably either going to stay with Tandem or move back to Minimed.

Thoughts?

I currently use Guardian 4 Sensors with Medtronic 780G. Studying the Instinct sensors and checking with Medicare for coverage. Will advise when I know more.

I just found out my insurance will cover the 780g, but only with the Guardian 4 sensor. I currently use the G7 and I’m not willing to go back to the Guardian 4. I guess I’ll have to stay with Tandem.

That is correct. I have been following the Instinct saga on Reddit and it is not good. Simplera is a single-insert sensor like the G7 and that is replacing the Guardian 4. – I switched to 780G from Tandem in February of last year and have not looked back! I love it and TIR is unmatched.

I have used MiniMed for decades. G4 CGM was awful I’j on my 4th Instinct sensor and it is a real pleasure, very easy to insert, no problems for me. Can actually put it in my arm but had to use stomach or thigh for G4 as it was not possible to apply without a 3rd arm. Instinct doesn’t even require additional taping. Instinct is made by Abbott.
