I go away for a week to North Carolina for a funeral and bubba was all over me last night when I came home. and I mean all over me…couldnt get close enough, etc…meowed at me a few times as well. today he has settled down tho…my boyfriend took care of him the week I was gone. but man oh man I didn’t think he would be all over me like this. he isn’t like then when I’m gone for 2 or 3 nights. I’m happy to be home as I was beginning to miss my bed and stuff.
bubba has a few cute sleep pics from today. he was being so adorable. now he is in the living room sleeping on the back of a chair. he loves sleeping against my stomach at night. its one of his favorite spots. so valentines day with him has been good :)…
@amymc Bubba sounds adoable and a wonderful Valentines companion
he was…he isn’t going to be happy in not allowing to be on my stomach the next few days. I ended up n the ER today feb 16th with an excruciating pain in my stomach…turns out my gallbladder had a blockage from a tone so they had to remove it. so I’m resting up in the hospital…he was scratching my door so I have a feeling he knew what was going on. but I’m sure once I get home tomorrow hell be able to help me feel better
Oh, I’m so sorry you are in ER! I hope the surgery goes well and painless as possible. Yes, you’ll feel much better once you are with your fur baby, and he will, too.
the surgery went well…my gallbladder looked really bad…so the dr said it was good we took it out…ill be staying a my moms clients house that she is taking care of tonight…I may not stay the night…I may go home and rest. but that is what I’m going to be needing…is rest. lots of it. I can take Tylenol for the pain but the dr will prescribe something stronger just in case I need it. I doubt ill use it but again ya never know…I know bubba is going to want to be on my stomach and I need to get him to stay off which I’m not sure how I am going to do that…any suggestions?
So glad surgery went well!
I think you should probably stay with your mom overnight. Bubba can spend the night without you for a short time. Just to be sure you heal properly! Can you try to convince Bubba to sleep on your side, not stomach? My kitty weighs 20+ pounds so she never sleeps on me! She does like to sleep as close to my face as possible though which is not my preference since she is a mouse catcher!! I try to gently move her face away from me!
I plan on staying with my mom tonight…I can try to push bubba off to my side and see if he catches on. I know that I am a side sleeper and he is pressed against my stomach which is fine…its just him being on top of it. ill see what happens. bubba has been by himself for a week when I went to North Carolina. so he is used to it.
Here’s to a speedy recovery!!
thanks…I know it will be a few days before I am feeling 100%…so I am taking it slowly as I can.
sorry if this note is out of sequence or whatever. i’m not sure where to post about my ■■■■■ cat, missy priss.
i’ve lived with her for 18 years. her brother, mr.bear passed 10 months ago due to cancer. the vet came here and jane held him in her arms as he was given the shots. priss was in the room and we placed bearbear on the floor so that she could see that he was gone. frankly, she became a much happier kitty after that, loving being the only child! she weighs 7.1 pounds and has for a year or so. she is part maine coon and has grey and white long fur that she has now stopped grooming so that we needed to have the vet clip off some mats recently. her last physical which included a complete blood scan was very good. she may outlive us! so she is a bony old cat who looks quite disheveled and hates to to brushed. she sleeps most of the time. i got one of those mitts with soft rubber nubs on it to try to help her groom and prevent mats. she is wary of it - time will tell. any suggestions on how to help her groom will be much appreciated. she is on thyroid meds for hyperthyroid, a common ailment in older kitties but she often rejects the tuna flavored med treats that the vet prescribed so her treatment is spotty. her latest weird thing is to stick the tip of her tongue out when we are having a love session. so, i am in the process of saying goodbye to her, which, i realize, may go on for another 2 years or so! i’m not sure why i am writing this. perhaps i just want to talk about her to someone(s). any thoughts or ideas on how to make her last days the best they can be? any stories about loving ancient ■■■■■ cats? thanks for reading this too long post!
dont worry if its out of sequence. it fits. hugs. I’m sure the mat brush will work. it takes time for her to get use to it. if you brush her regularly like every few days, etc then she can get use to it maybe? keep giving her tons and tons of loves. shell need that no matter how old she is :)…
when I had Calvin I didn’t know when his last days would be. he was hiding in the closet where I could see him. I would bring him onto the bed but again I didn’t know he was sick. he basically gave me his last day which was the day he died. he was a healthy cat. I gave him tons of loves, etc. I gave taranga lots of loves as well. her I wasn’t expecting to put to sleep. I thought they would fix her, etc. so I’m still hurt from that. but with Calvin being 18 when he passed, I gave him brushings even tho he was a short hair. I would use my fingers to give him the brushings. with taranga I used a brush as she would get matted. overall loves loves loves
I use Greenies pill pockets—have you tried them? My cats gobble ‘em up! One-half pocket per pill works fine for Leo’s thyroid meds. You could also ask your vet about finely crushing up the pill and mixing with moist food.
My cats love this grooming tool, even my late, beloved, long-haired Amador:
how is everyones cats doing??? I hope they are all doing ok.
bubba had his roomies at 5a and it disturbed my sleep. then he eventually came to sleep. he is a nut job sometimes lol. ill have pics for you guys of him of the latest pics. I need to upload a few to Instagram. gotta keep up with that. he has been. hiding from the camera as of late. so I need to get him to be in the bedroom for me to take them lol
Mighty Mouse is helping me in the garden.
Mighty Mouse looks very busy right now!
Supervising staff is always exhausting…
looks like Mighty Mouse is absorbing as much sun as can be
how is everyone doing during this social distancing/stay at home/shelter in place/quarentine? bubba is as usual happy that I’m home on the weekends I normally go to my best friends house. he is happy that I am home in general but that doesn’t change for him. the only change is I’m home on the weekends I normally go see my best friend. me on the other hand is going insane. I miss being able to see my best friend, etc. I miss going to the mall and hanging out with my best friend, etc. I hope this clears up soon. I’m bored out of my mind.
also, are your cats happy that you are home all the time?
