Searching for beta testers

Hi everyone,

I’m a software developer and a parent of a 9-year-old living with Type 1 diabetes. One recurring question in our home is: “When did we last change the infusion set or sensor?”

Dates can easily end up spread across memory, notes, calendars, or messages, so I built CareCycle, a focused iPhone app for tracking those changes. It lets you:

  • Log an infusion set or CGM sensor change quickly
  • See time in use and time remaining
  • Add or scan an optional sensor serial number
  • Set optional local reminders
  • Check status through Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
  • Review your change history and usage statistics

CareCycle is designed for personal logging only. It does not read glucose data, provide medical advice, or replace a medical device or healthcare professional. Records are stored on the iPhone, without an account or network sync.

I’m affiliated with the app — I built it myself — so I want to be transparent about that. I’m currently looking for honest feedback from parents and caregivers:

  • Is this a problem you experience?
  • What information would you want to see immediately?
  • What would make you trust and use a tool like this?

I’m not looking for upvotes. Critical feedback would be much more useful. If the moderators allow it, here is the landing page: diabdevtracker-a11y.github.io/DDT/

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Also, if you want to be part of the beta testers, please email me at my gmail account: DiabDevTracker

We loop (Omniloop – FB Group: “Looped”) and through this, we’re able to set up NightScout sites where we can include “pills” which show us all this info. Data feeds from the CGM and the Loop app on our phones into this website…Phone apps / complications for watches, etc., can be set up to see it on different devices. I can also see the battery charge level of my sons phone…which I’m constantly using to remind him he needs to plug up his phone.

CAGE = Cannula (POD) age

SAGE = Sensor (Dexcom G6) age

When you hover over either of those pill boxes, the insert date/time are displayed as hover text.

I suppose for those who don’t loop, this could be helpful to see.

As an aside - welcome to FUD! My son (now 12), was diagnosed at 2yo and this community has been amazing for us. Please head over to the “Introduce yourself” thread and introduce yourself to the community.

I’m going to be honest with you, there are a lot of apps out there that track diabetes stuff. I don’t have an iPhone so I’m not going to test this one. But Gluroo does what you are trying plus more. Maybe check that out before you dump a bunch of time into a new app?
