New Medtronic Sensor

First, I heard of Abbott making Medtronics CGM….Assume it’s a Freestyle with a link to Medtronic pumps?

Might be a result of Medtronic spinning off the pump business.

I’ve not used a Medtronic pump and sensor but have read of sensor issues. So maybe the new company powers that be decided to forego designing and building sensors.

Could be. At this point there isn’t much that sets one CGM apart from another. There are still differences, but those will be less over the next couple years. I suspect they don’t see a lot of upside in continuing to spend resources on it. Although it’s nice to have choice.

It’s interesting you say that Jim as I’m still using the G6 but with CamAPS looping software, the g6 essentially is extremely accurate especially if you calibrate it well on each new sensor that I could use these sensors for the rest of my life, the technology is sufficiently advanced enough for this use case, and really at this point it’s just making the algorithms that run the AI for the looping thats making the biggest changes across the board in diabetes control. Look don’t get me wrong, the tech can always get better but like you said I think too all the companies will be producing fairly equal ease of use and accuracy at this point.

Well, a Libre. Here’s a picture of the Libre 3:

Definitely looks like a duck.
