Hey, not sure who the Mobi users are here. I have a few questions. These are very important considerations for my special friend, who is wondering about these things. She is a surgeon!
How are the alarms? Are there many?
What types of things would cause an alarm?
Can alarms be turned off?
Does the pump make the alarm noises itself? Or are they sent to your phone? I mean, if a user did not have their phone with them, would the pump be quiet?
If the alarms are sent to the phone, can you silence them simply by closing the app on your phone and turning off notifications?
How “tubeless” is it? Is the tube only a few inches, like they go from the pump to the infusion site which is right next to the pump? How many inches are the tubes?
EDIT:
Will Control-IQ continue to work if the phone is not nearby? Meaning, does it still work like the way the Omnipod5 communicates directly with the Dexcom, or is the phone needed to communicate with the Dexcom and then the phone sends the BG info to the pump?
Thank you very much for any information. I am not a Tandem user, so I don’t know any of these answers!
On their conference call last week they mentioned making it a true patch pump…but who knows how long that would be. Be interesting to see where that goes.

We also have efforts underway to offer Mobi with Android control and to bring it to the markets we serve OUS Additionally, we have new Mobi features in active development, most notably a unique cartridge option that allows the pump to be worn as a tubeless patch without an infusion set, providing even greater options in wearability.
BTW, I called Tandem to ask my questions. The support guy seemed very uncertain. So I asked to talk to somebody in sales and I had to leave a message. I have not heard back from them yet.
@Eric the Sigi acquisition is part of the patch pump roll out. When I inquired about it at a recent TCOYD virtual conference, the Tandem rrp was upfront and said the patch pump roll out would not be in 2025.
