Miss the crunch?

Every once in a while I miss what I call the “artificial crunch”. Although I love raw veggies, they don’t fulfill that need, and I have struggled finding a low carb option that also tastes good.

I just found these awesome crackers! The Good Thins Sea Salt Corn taste like a cross between a cracker and a tortilla chip and are about the size of a Wheat Thin. http://www.goodthins.com/products/sea-salt

A serving size is 41 crackers. (25 carbs) I never eat more than 20 (sometimes 10 is plenty) and can certainly live with that as a vehicle for cheese, avocado, salsa, etc.

Does anyone else have a low carb crunchy snack they love?

What a great find! Here is the nutrition information:

I keep Triscuits at home for the same purpose, but they are much worse: 21 grams of carb for 6 crackers (28 grams). It is not easy to stop at 3, 4-5 is more likely. I will definitely have to look for these Good Thins!

A woman after my own heart…:hearts:
I love Triscuits and I am humbled by your ability to stop at 5!

Crunch is one of the food groups.

I have yet to find a low carb crunch option other than nuts.

When I can have dairy, I love whisps. When I can’t, I love this brand’s crackers(and their cookies…cupcakes…icing… ) - 17-19g carbs for 17 crackers (30g) https://www.simplemills.com/collections/almond-flour-crackers

I would recommend Trader Joe’s Whole Grain Crispbread. Being on a lchf diet these crackers are a perfect snack. I’ll usually cover it with cheddar cheese w/ salami, mayo, pesto, or almond butter.
Yum!!

In a regular grocery store with the rest of the cracker companies. Nabisco had a whole section since this Corn option is just one in a line they are doing. I bet you can get them on-line too.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
We don’t have anything fancy like a Trader Joe’s in my neck of non-urban Michigan. But I have access to the internet and I can see a few orders going out this week.

These cello Whisps are great with no carbs (1 carb per 18 gram serving):

They are parmesan cheese crisps, and can be easily found in any supermarket, or at Costco.

Our problem with them is that our boy INHALES them, and they are very caloric (170 cals per ounce). We know how difficult it is to lose weight with D, so we are now discontinuing our use.

They are also pretty salty, which is why they are not for everyone in my opinion. We get them from time to time, but they are definitely not a staple in our house.

Nice thread.

Yes! Both the cheese whisps and the Trader Joe brand are so salty! I don’t understand it.

I want to share this recipe for low carb cheese chips:(full disclosure I haven’t tried it. I have tried another recipe from the same site, which was good. So hopefully, it’s ok)

You can melt the cheese on a non stick pan and make home made cheese chips.
