So, in the theme of diabetics associated with FUD being unlimited. We were notified today that Cody is a National Merit Finalist! Good things await the young man, not the least of which will be heading off to college next fall.

No not really. If he wants to go to a mid-level school aka Univ. of XYZ then he can get a decent scholarship from it. From any school in the top 100, you get a $500 one time scholarship, so not really all that helpful. If he wins the scholarship (finds out in March) it is a one time $2500.00 scholarship, so nice, but not life changing.
