There are marketing issues that make it less fashionable.

Depends on the market

“One glass of wine” is generally a euphemism in my experience.

I wish it was more than one but it totally wasn’t tonight. I didn’t even do the counting trick where you refill before you’re empty so it still counts as #1.

@LarissaW. I’m not worthy of being a podder, but I use my moobs for infusion sites regularly.

Oh my goodness I’ve had a wacky 48 hours and this is actually the best thing ever. Thank you sooo much for my place in the KFUD dedication line.

I was just talking you up to one of my students today. Hopefully she will find her way on here!

Thank you for making my week! That was excellent!

ETA: for the record I wrote this before reading the devolution of this thread which left me in a laughing heap that I can’t even explain to the household Eric. Omg. Dude. So. Funny. You. People.:kissing_heart::crazy_face::blush::star_struck:

Oh.

And here I thought if it came from the same bottle, it counted as one drink.

And FU stands for what???

Ok, amazing! I’ve gotten great absorption so far. Do you use steel tip sites? Does it ever hurt with moob placement?? Do yours typically last the full 2-3 days??

Is there no concern about pumping insulin into an area where women are more prone to cancerous growth? Serious question

@Sam - No, I’m not concerned about a site placement on breast tissue in regards to breast cancer development. Can I ask for your logic connecting pumping and cancerous growth, in this site specifically?

I just remember from all the hype surrounding afrezza there was some concern about insulin itself contacting lung tissue directly, I don’t understand all the finer points but the gist was that cells exposed directly to insulin and “insulin like growth factor” do weird things and the concern was it could increase the risk of those cells becoming cancerous… I didn’t buy into it with afrezza and lungs just wondering if it was ever a concern in other areas

I can’t speak on afrezza and its effects on lung cells.

However, pumping into breast tissue is largely like pumping into other tissue types. The subcutaneous breast tissue that the site is placed into is mostly fat, (especially superior breast tissue, where breast sites are placed.)

@LarissaW Short answer…it depends on placement. Yes I do use steel sets there, but if it’s in a location that I might roll around on at night and it might potentially get painful from rolling around (because it’s near bone or whatever), then I would use a nylon set there. I get 3 days generally unless I have set close by. I find if I alternate sides and move around the general area, I can get +2 weeks of sets between both moobs. Then I move on …(or is it moob on??)

It might become a concern if you used the areas often enough that you ended up with lumps that could be felt on manual examination or seen on a scan, leading to further tests to rule out tumour or cysts. (Though it’s probably easy to distinguish lipohypertrophy from cancerous growth in a scan.)

I prefer the sound of “pecs” myself. But pods are extremely comfortable there, and I have amazingly good absorption. My Dex line significantly levels out with pec placement. (For now.)

So I hear.
