yes that is a full day of decorating work but I prefer to call it a full day of fun
Wow, @3cTim, those are great! I love bear with the cable stitch sweater!!! Such great details!
thanks
@3cTim So, hubby asked me to make cookies for a bake sale for Valentine’s Day. He’s the girls
tennis coach at school, and since they are terrible at fundraising he thought that I might enjoy making fancy cookies. Ack! Tennis doesn’t even start until the end of March! I immediately thought of you! About how many cookies would this make, roughly? I just ordered heart cookie cutters, as all I have is bats and jack o’lanterns.
My head’s all over the place with recipes, as the 14th is also our anniversary. As usual, I’ll be sorta replicating our wedding cake, as well as making cupcakes for the rest of his family, as well as a fancy dinner! (Don’t tease me about getting married on Valentine’s Day, it synced up with vacation/downtime for us that year! But its also the reason we don’t go out for it.)
Also, I will only share pics of my cookies if they come out amazing or incredibly terrible! No average here…
Your husband was clever. It makes your anniversary easy to remember, and he can combine Valentines Day and anniversary gifts every year. Smart man!
I asked my wife to marry me on the anniversary of our first date, and got married exactly one year from the proposal day. Makes the one day easy to remember, well at least I have forgotten the day less than my wife which has worked out well for me. But having to remember multiple dates is rough for me, so I vote for the simplification like @Mariethm has done.
Ha! It was also wicked cheap. Nobody in New England gets married during in the winter! (Didn’t hurt that the hotel didn’t want to be responsible for people driving during a blizzard, so pretty much everyone stayed for pennies…) Plus everyone had something fun to do on Valentine’s Day!
If you ask my husband when he asked me to marry him, he’ll say, “The Saturday before Halloween.” Dates can be confusing, so we go with that…
You are a woman after my own heart. The most expensive part of our wedding was the margarita machine rental. Good investment, because the guests became the entertainment after a couple of margs.
Just seeing these now. Love the bear’s claws, and the cableknit turtleneck. Very clever!
I usually get about 3 doz from this recipe but really depends on the size of the cookie cutter
Wish I could make a sweater for myself as easily. Lol could market them as an alternative to glucose tabs. One bite of sweater is 15 grams of carbs
Thank you! I realized later that it totally depends on size, so I’m getting different sized cutters. Either way, one batch is probably enough, as now hubby wants me to make chocolate-m&m cookies as well.
Happy baking
