Consistency of Apple Watch 10 Dexcom display over Apple Watch 6

I have an Apple Watch 6 that, battery is getting weak. The Dexcom complications often show— requiring to tap to get a display. It also has trouble pairing direct to sensor. Is the Apple Watch 10 better at displaying Dexcom?

I’ve only been using an Apple watch 10 for about 9 days, so my experience is quite limited! While I used an Apple watch 6 for about 4 years, and used “direct to watch” from the time that Dexcom made it available(I think), the Apple watch 10 seems to do a better job of maintaining contact with the G7 sensors, but it’s not perfect. I haven’t had any trouble pairing my phone or watch at any time. For four years, I used an iphone 12, but for nine days, I’ve been using an iphone 16. The combinations of phones and watches are numerous, and different problems could occur with different combinations.

I often have trouble getting the direct-to-sensor pairing to work on my Apple Watch 10 when connecting to a sensor for the first time. I learned that force-quitting the Dexcom app when it tells me that it failed to connect, and then trying the process again, works pretty well. (Just google for the process of force-quitting a watch app; I never remember the exact sequence of steps.)

It sounds like the 10 is no better for Dexcom than the 6. I guess I will get the battery replaced in my 6. Should be cheaper and will work just as well or poorly as the 10.
Thanks

Just a comment(opinion): the 10 has a larger face, so reading it is a little easier than reading the 6. I’m 82 years old, so it makes for a little improvement for me.
I haven’t noticed any real functional changes from the 6.

I have a SE2 purchased a couple of years ago. I’m on my second G7. I rarely loose the direct to watch connection. I do have to tap G7 icon on the face every once in awhile to get the current number but I was doing that often with the G6 as well. Even if the number is not current it has been alerting for lows. Overall I’m very happy with it.

So the SE is performing the same as my 6. No reason to upgrade.
