yes there’s no excuse in this day and age, when about 10% of the population has diabetes, to get such basics wrong!!! It’s really dumb.
I heard about some WWII movie where someone gets injected with an overdose of insulin and then survives by eating a little chocolate.
Well, at least they didn’t give him insulin to resolve it, as in the book mentioned by @Beacher!
Apparently it was a murder attempt. The movie is called Black Book. Someone on TuD mentions it:
How about the movie “Memento” where the guy is giving his wife insulin, and does it like an IV injection?
Here is the scene:
OMG, dangerous!
You’d have to be crazy to do such a thing!
Are you saying you are crazy?!
It is an absolutely for-sure way of knowing your real correction factor.
wow. I never knew this. How does it work? You almost die the first time, and then almost die a couple of more times until you get it just right? LOL.
no, seriously, you must do this with a Glucagon kit beside you, right?
No goofball! You don’t go crazy on the first time!
Like I think the first time I was 300 and took a half unit or something.
and how did that work out for you?
It was a million years ago, but I learned I could take more in that situation. And I learned to not be terrified of it. I learned that insulin works the same except for it being much faster.
