Where i've been this year

Sorry for being late to reply but ditto to what the others say, we are all here to support each other. I’m so sorry you are having a rough time of it not just with diabetes and pain, etc., but now caring for your father and seeing him having difficulties. Like @RachelMaraii, I have no experience caring for a loved one who is older, but your post was a beautiful, well written tribute to your father. I could visualize all the warmth and love you felt from your father and he obviously for you, taking his girls to all the wonderful spots NYC has to offer!

I slept with a squeze bottle of mustard on my night stand. A dollop of mustard will stop a cramp nearly instantly.

Information that is solid gold, of it’s own accord.

Does anyone else on FUD take nasal sprays with steroids in them? I would love to hear about your experiences. Thank you in advance.

I recently was using flonase, which is a steroidal nasal spray (somehere use it on their skin prior to applying a sensor or other device). That was a question that I raised when told to use it (I’d come down with RSA); how doe sit impact diabetes. I was told the effect would be negligible, as it is not systemic and acts locally. The impact, as best I could tell was relatively minimal, but being sick, it’s hard to isolate the medication from other influences that might be causing highs or lows.

Oral and topical prednisone ointments have capacity increased insulin resistance in me. Flonase and prednisone eye drops have not. The one time I got a corticosteroid injection in a knee I had high insulin resistance for around 14 days.

Some people with T1DM and normal insulin sensitivity may not see as much of an effect.

I have had many epidurals since my back surgery. I have had terrible insulin resistance for about 5 days afterwards, beginning the evening after the injections. I ve had to raise my basals up to over 200% just to keep my Bgs under 200. Its a horror show, but it passes.
