Not that any of us here break laws or anything
, just in case you know someone who relies on Canadian pharmacies…

My cats’ inhalers come from Canada, so I am super-bummed.
I’m have difficulty imagining get my cats to use an inhaler.
Oh, its tons of fun! But they know that Churu and special treats follow, so they’re (mostly) good. It helped having an old inhaler around to randomly depress so they got used to the sound. And I read A LOT and did a lot of practice with the Aerokat chamber before starting the real thing. Just sucks that I’ll now have to pay $250/month instead of $70. But I guess that’s what bake sales are for. ![]()
@Mariethm I am sorry that you are having this additional expense. That on top of everything else. We love our cats and dogs.
Yes, we do! And they’re worth every bit of $ and heartache.
Back to the subject, when the shelter called last night to order more asthma meds from the Canadian pharmacy, the CSR did say that there was a chance we won’t receive it, depending on shipment timing. So at least they’re being upfront about it. Mighty Canadian of them!
Thanks for posting this. I meant to. I’m watching it.
One of the reporters for the Boston Globe has been on it.
He writes this…
“This gives the FDA time to work with CBP to ensure a pathway for patients to continue importing more affordable prescription drugs for personal use when the rule is implement, based on identifiable safety criteria,” said Gabriel Levitt, who heads Prescription Justice, an advocacy group. “That’s what members of Congress have called for and that’s what the law says FDA should do."
" The Trump administration is delaying by 90 days a federal rule that could prevent Americans from obtaining prescription drugs from licensed international pharmacies.
The move follows growing criticism that the rule, which was initially slated to go into effect on Oct. 22, could drastically reduce the flow of medicines from Canada and other countries. In recent weeks, patient advocacy groups and dozens of congressional lawmakers urged the administration to rethink its approach."
You DEFINTLEY have 90 days to figure out an alternative, @Mariethm
This is important for anybody using Mark’s Marine Pharmacy.
@mohe0001 Thank you for the update! Any breathing room is helpful!
I buy drugs from Canada, not only bc they are cheaper, but bc they are not FDA approved and do not have any availability in the US. I’m reliant on Domperidone. I have Diabetic Gastropareses. My stomach muscles have a sort of paralysis and the Domperidone helps me to digest my food. It also helps food absorption which allows my insulin timing to work appropriately. I dont know what I am going to do without it, as there is no US substitute that works with the same effect.
This worries me grately. But Im not going to get into politics here.
@daisymae They’ve stated that drugs which are not available in the US shouldn’t be affected by this. I’d still make sure to account for delays…
Thx Mariethm. I will scour the internet to find out if i am going to b effected as well as preparing for any delays.
Where are you located? Could you still drive across the border to obtain it?
I’m only 4 or 5 hours from the border, so I recognize that this might be super impractical for others. But in a pinch, in order to obtain a needed medication, would this work?
I would plan for the worst case scenerio, at least upfront until we see how this all plays out. Might be worth an experimental trip before deadline to see for certain how this plays out.
