How is Meko and Milo?? Maybe that’s his name.
Good news it was a non dangerous Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD) that has cleared. I still had three annoying fly this morning but it was gone before my appointment. Otherwise eyes are still healthy.
I had minor diabetic retinopathy before and after starting multiple daily injections. That has cleared completely since I began pumping with C-IQ six years ago.
@CarlosLuis Milo’s ok, he’s eating better. There was a month or so that I had to hand feed him and he was a scared wabbit all the time; we were discussing “letting him go back to his fairyland”. He’s on daily gabapentin and still doesn’t have any sense of smell, but we had a lot of tests done and there doesn’t seem to be anything physically wrong with him. He seems happy enough, watching the birds all day, occasionally playing, so we’ll just let him be. He’s never going to be my cuddly baby or Meko’s life partner again, which makes me sad.
Meko’s holding up. He’s frustrated, and mad, besides the cone and surgery. Milo was his emotional support animal and now tends to just ignore him. Physically, I think the eye surgery is going to change his life so much for the better. He’s already trying to play, but keeps running into everything. He’s actually been cuddly, and asking for brushes, but the cone keeps him from sleeping.
My husband keeps hoping that one day they will be normal cats and we can stop all the meds and special schedules and fundraising, but I can’t wish for that anymore. No more extra effort on all our parts would mean no more Meko & Milo.
Happy to see the boys together- cone and all.
And that they are receiving loving care from their humans.
