I thought that the web forum would be down by now.
Why am I still able to access the forum? It’s great if it is permanently still available like this.
What’s up? I’m confused. https://forum.tudiabetes.org/

Once the bill hasn’t been paid it’ll shut down. Probably paid through a certain date.
They are still paying for estudiabetes.org; i.e. what you say is correct but domain names are cheap. I did attempt to put in a bid/offer for tudiabetes.org but the market is procreated.
Maybe someone listened and it will be; we speak, the corporations do not hear, but the people in them do and the corporation is an assemblage of people, some willing, some not.
I do not know how to effect change but I don’t know how to effect stasis either. From my religion change is more important.
Domain names, websites and website/forum hosting are completely different things. I own many domain names and have developed many websites. One can be maintained at fairly cheap prices (domain names). The other, unless you are hosting on your own server, comes with a fee, monthly, yearly or according to some payment schedule. If you don’t pay the upkeep cost, it goes away. They are using discourse forums like FUD is. We pay a fee to continue have our forum hosted by them…if we stop paying, it goes away at some point.
Indeed; forum.estudiabetes.org no longer exists (I assume it was a CNAME). forum.tudiabetes.org does still exist and is a CNAME back to “hosted-by-discourse.com”. tudiabetes.org was, so long as I can remember, a link back into the Beyond world; divorced, or maybe rather separated, from the Discourse forum. I guess the divorce is final; only death awaits.
It’s true it is not possible to buy forum.tudiabetes.org; the market is certainly fixed! But for BT1D to hang on to both estudiabetes.org and tudiabetes.org seems unnecessary to me. I’ve hung on to domains that I thought were important in the global scale of things but there is only so much you can do; I eventually concluded that it was better to drop them and hope someone more energetic that me pick them up and put them to suitably bad use.
We shall see; maybe even the $10/year or whatever they are paying for each will get cost cut.
Since many have tried to buy it from them to keep TuD going, it seems that the only logical explanation for why they did not sell it is so the can force people over to their beyond sites.
Or away from TuD and BeyondType1 (and 2??), completely. At FUD, we love different perspectives…we don’t need, or want, separate water fountains.
