My G6 Dexcom is asking to be calibrated daily. Why? Will this go on for 10 days?

For some unknown (to me) reason, my current Dexcom G6 is asking for daily calibration. What a pain. Did I do something wrong in the insertion? What was different for me this time was that I inserted later in the evening, so that the sensor wasn’t in touch with the phone during most of the warmup period. Oh, also, I started the session on the phone as well as on the pump at the same time, rather than just doing the phone. It’s a new transmitter.

So I guess there were a lot of abnormal things about the start of this session. What is causing the call for calibration? Is there anything I can do to make it stop?

Thanks for your consideration.

Did you by chance press “no code” when you were starting your session? That mode requires daily calibrations.

As @CatLady suggested, you probably hit “no code” by mistake.

Making it stop asking for calibrations is pretty easy. You just do a sensor restart.

Hit stop sensor, remove the sensor transmitter for 15 minutes, and then reinsert it and restart the sensor and enter the code.

Thanks. that’s easy enough to do. (fwiw I am pretty sure I put the code in, although we all make mistakes …).

Uh…sorry!

If you remove the sensor, it’s pretty much done!

I meant remove the transmitter! Not the sensor!

Sorry for saying it incorrectly!

I knew what you meant. One of the tricks that I learned thanks to this board was how to reset the session, so that was what I did. It’s working w/o calibration now. So thanks for the tip.
