Loop phone widget

This is a different issue than the one I posted about earlier. It is somewhat related, but I want to post it as a different topic so we don’t get sidetracked.

This post won’t be a rant like the other one, I am simply hoping for an answer!

As some of you already know, I upgraded my iPhone iOS recently.
(Dexcom is absolutely maddening)

After the upgrade, my Loop widget is gone. And I can’t get it back.

I used to be able to slide right on a locked screen and see my Loop stuff like CGM number and what adjustments are happening to my basal. Super convenient when you can see that stuff without unlocking your phone!

But after upgrading to iOS 26.2, I can’t put the Loop widget back.

I have gone through all the google suggestions and those are not working. I can add some widgets, but the Loop widget is not appearing as an option to be added.

Any ideas for this?

Thanks!

What model is your phone?

If I recall, widgets are different in iOS 26. I rebuilt Loop (current dev version) and the (revised) widgets work. The new version also has Live Activity, which shows the recent Loop data (updates itself automatically and frequently) on the lockscreen. With a newer iPhone that has the “always on” screen, this means I don’t need to touch the phone to see the current BG, IOB, and active carbs.

You won’t want to, but maybe it’s time to move your extensive customizations into the current code base and rebuild.

Ugh, that would take me forever. I really don’t like all the stuff that they put in there.

It’s a 12.

@Eric I seem to recall a mention of similar results by some builders of current version of Loop on LoopZulipChat. I think it required a rebuild and re-load of the Loop app either with browser build or X-Code. If you’re using your own mods, I don’t know that will address the issue you’re seeing.

Thanks for the info @TomH.

I can live without it if I need to. The widget is mostly helpful at night, so I don’t have to unlock my phone when I am half-asleep. If I have to just keep my phone unlocked at night, I can deal with it that way.

If it turns out that there is a problem with my phone being unlocked at night, I have bigger issues to deal with!
