Happy Thanksgiving! 2025

Happy Thanksgiving to all you FUDders, old and new!

I’m actually taking the time to think of all that I am thankful for today, and you’re pretty high on the list!

Eat, drink, and be merry!

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to all the folks here! Thanks for all the assistance, guidance, and advice over the last few years, whether followed, modified, or changed greatly! May we all know better personal outcomes for our shared T1 and T2 issues, as well as peace and happiness in our lives for the future!

A diabetic thanksgiving, this year. A packet of almonds and a glass of water.

I did feed the dog an apple, though.

Thanksgiving at home is better than staring at the wall in a cement room somewhere in the middle east…again.

My hope for all of us here have much to be grateful for. I wasn’t sure how I would fell this year, but I’m thankful for the 51+ years AliceJean and I had. To put icing on the sweet life we had are her brothers and sisters, our sons grandchildren and my cousins.

Had dinner with son and daughter in law which wa wonderful, the only downside is the granddaughter and family had to cancel, The children gave them the gift of hand/mouth, the little carriers

Happy Thanksgiving all! Here is my terrible past 24+ hours:

1: Turkey Trot run - went too high during :woman_running:; big false drop when I was done

2: snacking, big lunch, then dessert - lots of bolusing throughout :turkey:

3: BG drop from all of the insulin finally kicking in

4: I can only assume all of the food from lunch yesterday has been digesting since, and I have been high despite lots of correction doses, and not eating anything else since about 7pm yesterday :up_arrow: :up_button:

Thankfully my A1c on Wednesday was 5.8 so back on track today

I think the carbs from the pie(s) finally made its way through my stomach about 10pm after the logjam from a wonderful heavy meal…this midnight peak was despite a 80% temp basal increase all night.

Happy thanksgiving my FUD friends! My actual (non) turkey day had excellent BG control as we were in Germany and celebrated with dinner snacking in a wine bar! I was thwarted yesterday on an 8 hour flight home, kicked off with coffee that did a number, cranking me into the high 200s, and despite Dash/Loop AID and me auto-bolusing to try to correct, I didn’t come back into range until we were home last night – SO FRUSTRATING! (I even changed my pod at my seat on the plane – it was supposed to be a buttpod day (!!), but I figured my poor seat mates didn’t deserve that trauma) I haven’t had a day like that in so long. I am starving today after not eating much yesterday. Wishing we had t’giving leftovers here! Anyway, so grateful for all of you!

Hahahaha, can you imagine?! I was also traveling with my teenage daughter, who would have been absolutely mortified. It would have been one for the history books.
