Drug to Eliminate Insulin Resistance in T2

Here is some information on a newly developed drug, currently being successfully tested in mice, that is purported to lower and even eliminate insulin sensitivity in T2 diabetics. It inhibits the enzyme LMPTP, which limits insulin sensitivity.

The research is being done at Stanford University.

That would be amazing!

Of course, there is a long way from mice to men :slight_smile:

What side effects are going to come with this medication?

@Tony Welcome to FUD!

It’s way too soon to tell. They haven’t even yet started large animal studies.

Welcome, @Tony! I agree with @docslotnick: this research is only on mice, so it’s not clear at all if it will work with humans. Many studies work for mice but don’t make the jump to people.

[EDIT] I guess this is a new meaning for “Of Mice and Men.”
