I’d like to get glucose updates from my daughter while she’s at school, church, friend’s houses, etc, without her also having to carry a cellphone. She’s using the Dexcom G7.
According to the Dexcom site, Direct to Watch with Apple Watch only works over wifi:
<I’m not allowed to post the link, sorry!>
Has anyone been able to make this work? Getting updates with their kiddo only using an apple watch over cellular?
I don’t know that there is a way for it to work. As far as I know, with the G6, even when using an iPhone, Dexcom Share only works when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi. Cellular does not work.
I learned this the hard way when I was on a trip and my wife was not getting my Share updates because I was not connected to the hotel Wi-Fi.
Since Share does not work with the phone on cellular, I would certainly not expect there to be a way for it to work with the watch.
And I while the G7 is slightly different than the G6, I still don’t the Dexcom Share servers support this.
It does not really make sense. I can Google using cellular. I can even stream Netflix using cellular. But can’t use Dexcom Share!
