As I’ve reported elsewhere, I’ve been one of the Trio closed beta testers. The developers believe it’s far enough along to allow a more broad set of DIY AID users to build, use, and test the app. It’s intended for experienced AID users, particularly Trio/iAPS 0.2.x users. A Trio Docs and community Discord link are provided. If interested, I highly encourage reading the docs BEFORE building the app so you’re familiar with all the settings, needed information, and decisions you will need to make. If you build/use the app, the experience and results will likely be decidedly different from Loop, AAPS, OAPS, iAPS and others. Some will like it, some will not, but it’s another choice currently available to you. The below is copied from the Trio Discord announcing it’s availability yesterday:

This public beta release is the culmination of thousands of hours of work by dozens of contributors since late 2023. Important Notes for Public Beta Testers
- All users must complete the Onboarding Wizard after upgrading.
- If migrating from a previous 0.2.x build, 24 hr treatment data and therapy settings will be preserved.
- Your pump and CGM connections will be brought over automatically.
- Algorithm settings, dynamic ISF and some integrations (like Nightscout) will reset.
This public beta is intended for experienced users and long-time Trio 0.2.x users, not beginners.

A Note on Compatibility
Upgrading to Triov0.5.0
from0.2.x
is smooth and straightforward. The new Onboarding Wizard will guide you step by step.Be Aware:
- Once you have upgraded to
v0.5.0
, going back to0.2.x
is not supported.- If you choose to downgrade, you will need to set everything up again from scratch.
