I do it all the time too. I usually get at least an extra 10 days. I’ll usually try to restart a second time and I’ll get 4-5 more days, and sometimes a complete extra 10 more days. I haven’t tried to restart a sensor more than twice.
I do it mostly because if I get a spot that is working well, I hate to have to find a new spot.

I just switched to the G6 and I hate it already. I never had any issues with the G5. I hate the new app also.
