Maybe I was just a big dummy

I posted this a while back.
suggestions-for-itchy-pods

I tried all of the different suggestions. I could never really get anything to stop them from itching. Some of the suggestions seemed to help a little bit, or they would work sometimes but not every time.

I tried something totally different the past several pods. I am not 100% sure if this is the answer yet, but so far they have been much better. A lot less itchy!

I will know after few more pods if this is the answer.

But…the thing I have been trying recently is NOT using alcohol on the site before putting the pod on. And it has seemed to be better so far.

This will be crazy if the answer all along was to just stop using anything on the site at all, including alcohol wipes.

I will let you know how it goes over the next few pods.

@Eric would the hypothesis be that the alcohol is opening the pores of your skin like warm water does?

I really have no idea of the reason, @elver!

Your theory seems like a good guess!

But doesn’t alcohol tighten pores? That’s the idea behind alcohol-based aftershaves, anyway.

@Beacher you are most likely correct. I truly have no idea

I think I have tested this out with enough pods now. None of them have itched since I stopped using the alcohol.

So I am pretty sure that was the cause!

I will claim to be half-smart, and half-dumb.

Half-smart because I eventually figured it out. And half-dumb because it took me 2 years.

If anyone mentions itchy pods or Dexcoms to me, that’s the first thing I am going to suggest. Don’t use an alcohol wipe!
