I thought I’d asked this before but I can’t find my question for some reason.
Is there a way to tell Loop (any system that works with an iPhone) that you injected via syringe? I think when I asked before, someone said you could do it through Apple Health, but a couple of people at my diabetes clinic hadn’t heard of this. Does anyone do it?
On the Loop main screen, tap on the insulin delivery graph. This will bring up the Insulin Delivery screen. Just under the IOB and U Total line, there is a row that has Event History highlighted (and the bolus/temp basal events are listed below it). The other two items in the header are Reservoir, and Non-Pump Insulin. Tap on Non-Pump Insulin (which is actually a button, even though it is so small). That brings up the Non-Pump Insulin page, which would have no items listed yet. Press the + symbol near the upper right to bring up the Log Dose screen, which enables you to enter the time the insulin was given, the type of insulin (which defaults to the same as your normal pump insulin, but you can choose Novolog, Humalog, Apidra, Fiasp, Lyumjev, or Afrezza) and below that, tap on the number in the Bolus line to enter the amount of insulin you gave, and press the big blue Log Dose button at the bottom of the screen. As always in Loop, you may have to scroll the screen to reach the Log Dose button bottom of the page, depending on your phone’s screen size and magnification settings.
@Beacher Loop, Trio, and iAPS all have this capability. It varies by the app how its done. It can also be done via Apple Health with each of these apps as long as your settings allow the apps to both read and write to Apple Health. I believe this has to be set in both the Apps and in Apple Health. Looks like @bkh has the info on Loop for you, the others may best looked up in their respective docs available on line.
