Gluten consumption during infancy tied to type 1 diabetes risk

Researchers found that gluten intake at 18 months of age is associated with development of T1D. Interestingly, in a study published in May this year, the same researchers did not find an association between gluten intake at 1-2 years of age and development of T1D in a population of children with a high risk of T1D.
For those interested, the conference abstract can be read here. It doesn’t give a whole lot of information, only the main results.
