I had a new sensor that could not be started or recognized by the app a few days ago. I remembered a podcaster saying that this had happened to quite a lot of people multiple times in a row and sometimes it could be fixed by taking the inserter and holding it or a magnet over the sensor. Well I tried it and it was instantly recognized! I know that it wasn’t just a coincidence because I had inserted the sensor 12 hours previously and the app showed it as a brand new insertion with 30 minutes until a reading.
Well not a big deal for me when at home but I think this little trick could come quite in handy if traveling and you don’t have access to a large supply of sensors. I gather this was a big problem a few months ago. I’m probably just getting my first now cause I’m like 3 months ahead on G7s.
No idea if something is wrong or how long this sensor will last but so far so good.
I’m not sure if this has been posted on the forum before but I thought I would share it just in case.
