2:56 am - 4:47 am … suspend. BG, confirmed, 43. Was trying to be running by 8… and was hoping to be drinking my coffee by 7…going back to sleep now and have already done a bolus to cover suspend, but how would you handle this??

That’s fine, but what I would realluy like to do is see how much of the spike is just caffeine, or if there is something else.
Coffee has something in it that spikes some people. I think @daisymae has the same experience.
At some point can you force down a cup of decaf to see if you spike? Everything else should be the same (sugar free creamer).
I would predict a smaller spike, but still some type of spike.
Let’s focus on seeing the if the same spike happens with just caffeine, and no coffee. Try a 5-hour energy. Just try one to see what happens.
The point is, try coffee with no caffeine and see what happens. And then caffeine with no coffee to see what happens. Just once or twice each, as a test.
I am not saying this is what you need to do forever, but just want to try to poke a hole in the mystery a little bit, okay?

Totally blew the blood sugar stuff. Not gonna lie. It was a mess and is JUST NOW settling back into less of a mess… I’ll give you those numbers even though I don’t want to. But the run… the run was great. You do know you gave me a 6 mile run, right? Did you do that on purpose?? I haven’t done a 6 mile run… I don’t know. In a really long time. I need to go get my phone and look at the times though. So I’ll be back again…

i found that i can drink decaf but i do have to bolus for it.

Oh… and I started at a 253 BG and ended at a 176. So there was that.
I mean distances. Which distance felt best, the 600m? The 800? Both the same?
So if you ever decide to skip coffee and have normal BG one time, you can set a new world record, it would seem.
Both about the same, and I was perfectly happy with both. But if I say that, are you going to give me a bunch in the next workout? Because I really liked the 200s and 400s, too…
superstar buuuut that might not be the way it works… I actually think the coffee is what gives me superpowers. Without it, I might not be able to get upright. But I’ll think about it…I will.
Wednesday is an off day from running, but you still have 2 things to do.

- Get a running watch. Garmin Forerunner or equivalent. Relatively inexpensive, you can get one for $70 (or a million $$). Whatever you want to spend.
- Get some good running shoes.
But who wants decaf?

i drink decaf b/c if i drink regular coffee i get insanely manic and my heart pounds like i am going to have a coronary.
