DKA with relatively normal BG?

Has anyone heard of cases of DKA after an infection but with rather normal blood sugar level?

I have not heard of this, hopefully someone is more educated than I and will be along shortly.

Infection is listed as a cause. It can happen as a result of not only BG, but if fat is being used exclusively for fuel by the body.

What are the circumstances?
