Changing Batteries in PDM caused POD error?

I had remembered this from the past and although we don’t use the PDM anymore, I did a bit of searching and found a couple posts where it was briefly discussed.

Must be something in the air! I hope things get better for you soon! Oh, and as an aside, with the ‘battery’ issue…make sure you do NOT change it mid-session. We changed our batteries once with pump installed and when we tried to turn it back on, we received an error. Even though the internal battery is supposed to remember temporary data, it appears we lost all the data and had to wait 2 hours to start using it again. Yet another Omnipod PDM failure

You should plan your battery changes for when you change your pod (not every time you change your pod, but just when the battery is low). The only thing wrong with your PDM is the internal battery is bad. The internal battery is only used to maintain date and time when you change batteries. I have a PDM like that, but I haven’t had it replaced. When the battery indicator shows it is low, I just change the batteries at pod change time. Hope some of this helps in perhaps preventing it in the future. As far as the replacement, I wouldn’t think so if you’re not one of their customers but I could be wrong.
