LTE Apple Watch tries to save battery life by using your iPhones connection or a Wi-fi network. Problem is, when you are out and about there are “captive” networks that require an interstitial login prompt or a terms and conditions agreement (think Starbucks, McDonalds, Public School networks etc).
The AW has no way of getting through the interstitial layer so in theory, the AW should no even try to connect to these captive networks. I’m sure they will be releasing a software update very soon for this because the watch thinks it’s connected but no data can be sent/received.
