Your Most Accurate Dexcom Sensor Site

DAISYMAE. So the night time alarms bother you. You may want to look into getting a SugarPixel .
It’s a clock like device that you can set alarms and display configuration’s. With comes a little plug in device you put under pillow that vibrates on any given alarm level. It’s also has numerous displays. I use the big number for days and the number with time at night

John, could U please explain a little how this clock works as opposed to the alarm on my Dexcom works. Im not certain I understand. My Dexcom alarm goes off if my BGs are either too high or too low. How does this alarm know whether I am high or low?

We LOVE our Sugar Pixels! Before Sugar Pixel, there was NOTHING to notify me (with any ability to wake me up) for High BGs…lows were covered with SugarMate because I could get an actual phone call from it which I was able to wake up too…but ever since I got our SugarPixels, I’ve retired SugarMate. The alarms are (can be, you enable that setting) randomized so you never get the same one twice, which causes the brain to not be able to “build it into dreams” when you’re asleep. I can’t say enough good things about our SugarPixels. @Liam-M has one in his room and I have one in mine. During the nights, his gets turned off and I keep mine on.

How it works…it connects to your Dexcom (or Libre, Nightscout, Gluroo) so it knows your exact numbers all the time. It’s large, bold and loud…if you have no problems waking up already to your existing Dexcom alerts, you may not need it…but if you’re alert deaf like I turned eventually, the only things I woke up too were SugarMate’s phone calls for lows and there was NOTHING for me to wake up too for highs…none of the alerts/alarms worked in any device to wake me up…so I’ve often wake up to 300’s which I’d have to stay up hours fixing.

@Liam-M and I wrote about our experience here: I just got a SugarPixel!

Here’s another post about it that @SobeiT started: Sugarpexil & other alert devices - #9 by SobeiT

If you have any specific questions, I’m sure one of us can help you. Here’s a screen shot of all the customizable alarms and other settings. The device also comes with a vibration puck which we don’t use, but it’s good for placing under a pillow or on a nightstand to help further aid in waking the person up.

Thanks for Reaching out to Daseymae. I got he request via email. And down loaded. The pics you did.

DASIEMAE. YES THE ALARMS ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS YOUR PHONE. But the advantage is you don’t have to fumble with your phone, it is wireless and Bluetooth so you can have it across the room as see your reading with out reaching out for your phone. And as I said if you a sound sleeper the pillow vibrator will wake you.

You can also set different alarms levels then what on your phone.
In my case low on my phone is 75. But low on the Pixel is 100.
I did this to allow me to wake and make a glucose correction before it goes really low. You can research the pixel on the Old TU side also

John, I actually use the Dex receiver and keep it right under my pillow. It is set on low with vibrate on as well. I think that there has been a small misunderstanding. I was not complaining that i couldnt hear my Dex alarm, I CAN TOTALLY hear it !!! I was complaoing because if its a rough night, the alarm just keeps going off, depite corrections, and i get no sleep. Not the other way around

That’s another reason i ditched the other devices and apps. With sugar pixel, i can tell it how often i want to be bugged.

In past experiences of having to calibrate often and try carbing up it has ALWAYS been the fault of an upcoming Sensor Error.. with this issue I would almost always end up high
One thin for sure not matter what we do do it’s write some of the time and wrong the next.

Now that makes it all worthwhile!!! Thanks a million.

Its so nice to hear this issue validated. My best efforts never guarantee great BGs. This can result in terrible frustration. Today my BGs were very high (240s-270s). I changed my infusion site twice, and when that didnt help (and I didnt respond to regular correction boluses) I raised my basal to 140%. Finally my BGs began to slowly come down into range. Currently 147.
