Where do you wear your Dexcom G7?

More often than not I wear my Dexcom G6 on my thigh and get good results. Since I was unable to snag another round of the G6, I’ll be starting the G7 soon. I am going to continue to use the thigh area (more real estate than my arms, where I also wear my Pods) and am interested to learn if alternate locations are working well for other users. Thanks!

I wore many G7 sensors on the far upper part of my bicep, a couple inches higher than a pod would ever be worn. Towards the back, maybe 2-3 inches below the shoulder bone. That became my favorite zone for the G7! Hope that description makes sense, I don’t have any photos of that sensor placement.

I have only used a few G7’s so far. Mostly just to test them out while I go through the remainder of my G6 stash.

I put them on my abdomen. I know that is not allowed. The Dexcom police will come knocking on my door now. :open_mouth:

But they seemed to work okay there.

Back of arm. Placed with a mirror to avoid at least the places where spots from the last ones are still visible. I worry about wearing out the area, but the abdomen is worn out from decades of infusion sets, so I may try my man boobs.

I don’t know a biceps from a triceratops. I use the “back of the arm”, as instructed, except I’ve never tried the lower arm; the back of my lower are is somewhat lacking in subcutaneous fat, assuming “back” means the elbow side. So I end up with this:

The lower dashed red ellipse is where I started and used for some number of years but then I started having problems with reliability/accuracy. I swapped to the upper ellipse which, since the picture isn’t that clear, is on the opposite side to my armpit. I don’t use the intermediate zone because it is between two muscles (I think), there’s no fat, and I suspect the relevant “flexing” (is that right?) of the muscles would cause problems.

My upper chest I reserve for my Omnipod simply because it has much more subcutaneous fat. My endo pokes to the side of my belly and declares I have lots of places to put it but most of them bend, which periodically either pulls the canula out or pops the 'pod off. Upper chest is easiest by I’m trying not to overuse it.
