Sorry, a very quick post, scrabbled together from some other times I posted on the subject. When your body adjusts to higher altitudes, it has to cope with the lower oxygen levels that are at higher altitudes. This can cause the body to release the stress hormone cortisol, which helps your body cope with the lower oxygen levels. Stress hormones can cause a rise in blood sugar levels.
