Are there any T1D’s out there who could share experiences using Tirzepatide, Mounjaro, or Zepbound?
I’m particularly interested to know if you’ve noticed any increase in dawn phenomenon or highs after eating or intense exercise.
I ask b/c GIP-agonism by tirzepatide can stimulate glucagon production. That isn’t a major issue in T2D b/c it also stimulates insulin production which inhibits the effects on glucagon. I’m wondering what happens in someone who doesn’t make insulin.
I love this question, and started a subreddit about it (called “Type1DabetesandGLP”).
I’m T1, in my first week of compounded Tirz. It is my understanding that is suppressed glucagon production.
It has reduced my overall insulin requirements, smoothed out highs. BUT a recent morning challenging workout sent me up, before sending me down. I believe this is because I had too little insulin on board (due to the tirz).
Welcome @facesshadows, and impressive. I am looking forward to more of us publishing on this thread.
I have a feeling that there is finesse to be discovered to optimize the use. Nothing like s few good forum threads to get collective wisdom going to find out.
