Yep, been expecting this. I wonder whether asymptomatic infections can trigger diabetes as well, and if we will see rising rates in children in the next year or so as a result, even if there is no known infection. We know many more people have genetic vulnerability to diabetes than develop it, and that environmental triggers including viral infections are likely part of the picture.
