Looping and extremely frustrated with settings; maybe someone here has suggestions?

If you don’t log Carbs as you should (where Autotune sees inexplicable rises), there’s a checkbox you should make sure is NOT selected within Autotune to select UAM as basal. Not sure if you had checked that or not? It’s been VERY good for Liam and us, but we log 100% of the carbs we give Liam. I would definitely give it another go.

yeah before we didn’t want the teachers to touch the Loop app, so Loop knew only about half the carbs Samson ate. I did check UAM but for Samson a lot of rises from food happen 2.5 hours after he eats. Anyways, i tried autotune just now and this is what it suggested:
Sudden rises were counted as being triggered by carbs that were not recorded rather than incorrect basals. If all carbs were recorded, re-run with the UAM as Basals option enabled.

How do you feel about those results?

My problem with loop is in RAGE BOLUSing…if I just left loop alone more frequently and let it do what it does, we would have fewer issues. I’m getting better at being “hands off” and letting Loop work…it takes SO MUCH patience.

they’re not bad but I’m pretty sure at least some of the times are wrong because I only selected one ISF and one carbF (daytime) so the nighttime results shouldn’t work…

yeah Loop, when properly dialed in, takes forever to combat highs. But I think once you know the settings work, there are ways to rage bolus smartly.

Yes and no. They INITIALLY (at least for us) show that they are going to take forever (3 hours+), but they end up only taking 1 to 1.5 hours to bring it down. I’ve stayed hands off for two days now and I’ve found that both days, loop indicates it’ll be back down in a few hours, but as it gives the increased basal rates as necessary, every 5 minutes that time is brought down. It’s hard to be hands off…but I’m seeing the benefit of doing it that way.

Our ISF was way off which attributed to some of our lows. We are now at your original ISF (276), which was recommended (from 225 we were using before) and we’ve seen drastic changes in that ISF being correct.

Also, when I’m running Autotune I ran it for the past 30 days…then for the past 7 days. From here on out, I’ll be running it once per week, for the past 7 days and seeing what differences exist from the previous week.

Here’s the current prediction.
