Explaining life with diabetes to non-diabetic people can be hard. Analogies may be helpful to convey some of the struggles we have with maintaining our blood glucose within a healthy range. A common example of this is the airplane analogy:
Although all analogies have flaws, some may be better than others. What do you think is the most helpful diabetes analogy?

Good, well I don’t have any analogies but when I was in my twenties I had a friend whose wife used to call me a Dietetic. I could have pointed her to the airplane analogy link but I fear I may have had to explain what an airplane was…
