FWIW, the “egg bites” (with bacon) at Starbucks are pretty tasty and only 9 grams of carbs. Good for a quick snack or on a road trip.
I love the egg bites, although I prefer the veggie ones (I like bacon, but I find the texture of it in the egg bites a little weird), with a little sriracha on them. I want them to come up with more flavors—a southwestern one maybe with chorizo would be amazing.
This info about Starbucks is amazing. I gave up on them completely years ago for having “food” I could eat - I’ll check out the egg bites. Those sound like food. And there are Starbucks everywhere.
Yes, but then you have to drink their coffee…
HA!!! I wish I could drink coffee, but it makes my stomach super sick. Their tea selection is adequate. All of this probably explains why I don’t spend very much time in Starbucks.
Caffeine period (coffee or tea) makes me sick, so I don’t really ever go to Starbucks, but they did semi-recently come out with a gf breakfast sandwich that’s supposed to be safe (if prepared correctly - in the packaging it came in).
I didn’t think Rice Crispies were gluten free.
The ones we get have “malt flavoring” which contains gluten.
Official Rice Krispies aren’t gluten free, but you can make “crisped rice treats” using other very similar cereals that are.
I think there are also off-brand ones that are gf. Don’t quote me on that - I haven’t been able to figure out how to dose for gf Rice Krispies, so haven’t even attempted a Rice Krispie treat.
We have tons of GF catering bakeries around here – I guess that’s San Francisco for you. They actually are also much tastier than most GF treats I’ve had in the past. Seems like GF baking is finally catching up now that more people have a demand for it.
I will have to read the fine print but I think the type carried by Starbucks says GF. No matter, he is not tempted by them when we go to Barnes & Noble…and has a mocha instead!
