Freestyle Libre in the US: 10-day vs 14-day sensor comparison

Nice… I think I would have had success on my 2nd, maybe 3rd try, but luckily the libre arrived

Hi,

Do you know if the blucon Works with 14 day sensors?

Unfortunately no. The 14 day sensors are encoded, and everyone seems to be working on it, however, it doesn’t look good. Blucon told me to ask Walmart for 10 day sensors, when I picked them up, they were 14, so I refused…I’m going to ask my endo for a pro reader and try to use pro sensors, but I’m not sure if I’ll be successful. I know the pro will work with xdrip… otherwise I’ll probably try eversense since I’ll have to pay a 2500 deduction anyway… sorry for the delay

Bummer, I got lucky and just picked up 3 months worth of 10 day sensors from my pharmacy. Technically it’s 4 months since they last 14 days. Loving the MiaoMiao, Libre 10 Day and Spike combo… However, I’m prepared for it not to last forever. Once these are done, and if the 14 day sensors don’t get worked out, I’m looking into the Medtronic Guardian Connect. Not sure what the cost would be, but maybe less than a Dexcom since it works as a standalone with an iOS app, vs needing a separate device. Do you have any info on that one?

I’m still planning on the eversense…if you look it up, they are working on the 6 month implant with the one year around the corner… in the winter, I can get 5 or 6 days out of an adhesive style and that’s it. Also looks like the only solution for freely sleeping on whichever side you prefer… normally, if I get 14 days out of a libre I’m very lucky, its not in the winter. Eversense might be a little early, but looks like the future
