I don’t know if anyone else has done this but Diastix/Keto Diastix can be used to test drinks to see whether they are sugar free or regular. If the drink has sugar in it the glucose area on the strip will change color. Some meters can do something similar also but none of the manufacturers have any documentation on it

Many years ago I used the test tape to test for sugar drinks. The test tape was originally used for checking the urine. It worked perfectly. Sorry to see this very inexpensive test tape is no longer available.

Yes, that’s a cool trick!
I have done it before with some of my BG test kits, but it doesn’t work all the time on those. A lot of times I just get an error.
