It is a “q”. It’s shorthand for saying “every”.
Written out, it would be this:
0.5-1.0 milligrams of this medicine, injected subcutaneously every week.

Ridiculous though, isn’t it? Like when people send me an email or text and it has so many acronyms in it, and I have no idea what they are saying.
